A CD Review by Rick Nelson Title:
Workbench Annual Volume 2001 on CD I was fortunate to win the CD version of Workbench which included 6 complete issues of the magazine for a $24.95 value. As much as I have always been familiar with Workbench Magazine and enjoyed the valuable information inside every issue, it is a real pleasure to have the entire annual volume of 2001 handy on one CD. The CD is conveniently put together in a way that allows one to specify a search for any specific topic or you can simply browse through the CD and read an entire issue at a time. There was much thought involved to assemble the format since you can jump from any article to another if you so choose. As one who collects many magazines about woodworking there is numerous times that I will go searching for an article or idea and have to shuffle through several magazines to find what it is that I am looking for. In that respect, I see the advantage of the CD version as a time saving tool since the topic is right there and easily found. This was my first experience to have a full volume of any magazine on CD and I would not hesitate to purchase other volumes. My thanks goes out to Workbench Magazine and August Home Publishing Company, Gordon C. Gaippe-New Media Manager for the opportunity to experience this product and I congratulate you on your good work. I would definitely recommend purchasing this type of media to all woodworkers and I intend to do so myself in the future.
